What is hashing?!?
Hashing . . . it’s a mixture of athleticism and sociability, hedonism and hard work; a refreshing break from the nine-to-five routine. Hashing is an exhilaratingly fun combination of running, orienteering, and partying, where bands of harriers and harriettes chase hares on eight-to-ten kilometer-long trails through town, country, jungle, and desert, all in search of exercise, camaraderie, and good times.
Our hash was founded by ToeJam on the 4th of July 1999. It’s located in Ibaraki Prefecture, less than an hour from Tokyo to the northeast. We run once a month, usually the third or last weekend. Our hash is a mixed group of Japanese and Foreigners, male and female.
We charge ¥1000, which is about $10 per person, for beer, soft drinks, and snacks. Besides your hash cash, you’ll also need to bring a whistle for the trail and a beer-cup for down-downs. For more information contact our Mismanagement.
